A website 250 years in the making.

In 2026, America will hit the ripe old age of 250 and Philadelphia feels like the ideal place to reflect and celebrate. We helped this non-profit by creating a brand identity and digital home for more info about the semiquincentennial happenings. Yeah, it’s not easy to say either.

Setting the stage

With a six-year runway ahead, we needed to build an identity and website for Philadelphia250 that felt timeless and flexible. As the landmark year approaches, site content will continue to be added and the visibility of the initiative will be raised.


Born in the USA
Designing an identity that was unique for Philadelphia with a touch of national patriotism was a tricky balancing act. Prioritizing the word Philadelphia became the focus, with simple symbols and color to hint at the national scope.
Tools for sharing
Animated graphics were uploaded to Instagrams partner platform, Giphy, for easy and fun content creation and sharing.
Educate & inspire
A diverse range of Philadelphia scenes were highlighted via photograpy throughout the site. This helped further emphasize the melting pot makeup of this great American city.
Past meets present
Historical photos and modern iconography were all included in the brand’s design language. Providing flexbility for visual storytelling.
